AFarCloud: Aggregate Farming in the Cloud

Dominio de aplicación: Transformación Digital
Tecnologías: IA - Ontología e Interoperabilidad

AfarCloud (ECSEL-2017-783221) is a European project funded under the ECSEL-2017 call for key applications and essential technologies (RIA) and co-funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Enterprise.

The aim of the project is to create an autonomous platform for distributed agriculture that enables the integration and cooperation of cyber-physical agriculture systems in real time allowing to improve efficiency, productivity, animal health, food quality and reducing labour cost. This platform will be integrated with farm management systems and will support monitoring and decision-making based on big data and real-time data mining techniques.

These achievements of AFarCloud will be demonstrated in 3 holistic demonstrators (Finland, Spain and Italy), including crop and livestock management scenarios as well as 8 local demonstrators (Latvia, Sweden, Spain and Czech Republic) to test specific functionalities and validate project results in relevant environments located in different European regions.

The AfarCloud consortium is composed of large technology companies, universities, research centres and SMEs from Spain, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Italy, Latvia, Greece and Czech Republic. Specifically, HI-Iberia's role will be the requirements gathering, the development of a semantic middleware in charge of making the modules that form the platform interoperable and modelling the behaviour of the livestock.

The AfarCloud consortium is composed of large technology companies, universities, research centres and SMEs from Spain, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Italy, Latvia, Greece and the Czech Republic. Specifically, HI-Iberia's role is focused, on the one hand, on the requirements gathering and the development of a semantic middleware in charge of making the modules that form the platform interoperable and modelling the behaviour of the livestock. On the other hand, HI-Iberia also participates in the definition and implementation of the authentication and authorisation process of all the modules that make up the AFARCLOUD IoT architecture.
